I GOT IN. I just got my "congratulations. welcome to Emory" packet in the mail today. It's not a big envelope...just really thick. I applied RD. I figured that they'd send out international decision early, but not normal ones. Oh well ; I'm psyched. I haven't logged onto OPUS yet or anything, but i'm pretty excited.

thats awesome! Congratulations! Should we be expecting to hear back BEFORE April 1 then? or is this only for exceptional candidates/athletes/ URMs/etc etc

yes. and no. it says that it will come in a separate mailing, but it says you can log on to opus and find out. i guess i'll try that later on today. it also comes with a CD to install LearnLink & all that jazz.

PS - i think i found out early because there's an orientation for admitted black & hispanic students ON april 2nd (1 day after the April 1st notification date). so Emory would have to let minorities know whether or not they were accepted WAY before that date to make travel plans & all that stuff.

BTW, has anyone here who have been accepted have above a 1400 and above a 95 average with honors/aps because I have heard that they tend to reject kids with high credentials. They weighlisted a girl from my school last year with perfect stuff and she got into almost every school including princeton, columbia, mit, duke, stanford, etc.

emory accepts people with a good grasp of who they really are. URM are not being accepted because of their race or anything. I want you to realize that scores do not tell everything."
There is a reason why emory is one of the hardest schools to get in (top 20 in hard school to get in on Princetonreview.com)
