So I had my interview today.

It was only like 25 minutes long, but was quite good. The dude was pretty cool and gave great information about U of Chi-town. Luckily for him, I'm a gem and was just the most sophisticated kind of humorous.

Also it was a conversational interview, not a bizarre one that puts you on the spot. Just typical questions about what you like to do, what you do in Chicago, what you're interested in, and those topics just veer into regular conversation.

Good times.

Yeah, mine was similar.

According to idad, alum interviews count for little to nothing in the admissions process for Chicago (and I think that's the same for most schools).

That's what I've heard.

Who was your interviewer?

Mine is in admissions at 1115a tomorrow. :O :O :O

He was a local alumni and a sweetie pie.

Whoa! This is a lot different than the interviews in the admissions office. Son's interview was an hour. I have even heard of some that lasted two hours.

Interview in admissions office done:
45min-60min ish.

I am a transfer student. We talked about high school, my first and second college searches, why I feel I can make the jump from a ranked 87ish school like mine to a top 10, my courses, why Chicago, etc. - no "think on your feet" questions or anything of that sort.

Wow. I had questions like 'you are given the magic wand of Glinda the Good, what 5 things will you change at school? world? what about self?', 'Your app has been thrown away and replaced with 8 words, give me those words', 'what are your view on torture...OK, you are put in suspended animation, wake up 25 years later and are secretary of defence in a horrible, horrible war, what do you do? how do you do it?' etc. I had an awesome, atypical, incredibly fun interview.

Oh you had one of those interviews. I am so jealous. :(

Glinda the Good?

yeah, i had one almost identical to sran's.

jw, who was your interviewer?

Yeah, i was kind of hoping for one of those interviews, you know because I'm so deliciously witty. I also have a nice ass.But hey, in any case it turned out to be a pleasant conversation. Works for me.

sran + codeblue87- That sounds pretty similar to my interview- did you guys have Claude? He's awesome.

Mine was about an hour and a half. I guess it just depends on your interviewer!

Claude was my interviewer; interesting questions. I actually had something to talk about when people asked me how my interview went.

yep, i had claude. it was a great interview.

sexually great?

haha, i get it. you said sex and sex is funny, right?

nah

hahahahah.....even if my overused joke wasn't funny, yours certainly was.

I'm not being sarcastic either, I like being teased.

They told me that there aren't enough alumni in my area to interview me. I hope this doesn't hurt me much...
