So I hate myself for making one of these but..

Okay. First, I'm applying EDI. Here are my stats:

GPA: 3.79
SATs: 2100
SAT IIs: World History-740, US History-750
School doesn't rank
Caucasian male from a District of Columbia Public School
National Merit Commended

ECs: Co-Captain of the debate team (have been debating for four years), Features Editor for the school paper, various school plays, Harvard Model Congress, Academy Advisory Group member

APs
(2007)
French Language: 4
US History: 5
English Lit and Comp: 5

I'm taking four APs this year

Besides French, I've taken Latin since 9th grade, and am also taking Korean at the George Washington University (it's pretty nearby).

For my essay, I wrote about how parental absence impacted Holden Caulfield in the Catcher in the Rye, and what that means for me (I'm a test-tube baby, so I have absolutely no idea who my father is). I thought it was pretty good.

AHHH I'm totally against this whole chancing thing, but I'm starting to freak out, so I would really appreciate some CC input here.

Um, I'd say you've got a fantastic chance. Why? Because, no joke, you have almost EXACTLY the same stats that I did last year--same SAT I, SAT IIs in the same ballpark, GPA differs by 0.01, one less AP than you, school does not rank, ECs of a similar claiber, National Merit Commended--when I applied and got into Vassar RD (the one major difference is that I went to a private high school; and I don't think that should really affect things). Seeing as you're male, you should have an even better chance than I did. So yeah, I'd say if Vassar's consistent about who they let it, you've got an excellent shot.

EXCELLENT chances.

I'm taking the SAT again on Saturday. Hopefully I'll pull my score up a little.
