So I Have a Brother at Stanford But Then My Grades Aren't THAAT Good.

Hey guys,

So basically my grades are like GPA 3.7-4.0 (from first term of Freshmen Year to Final Term of Sophomore Year). I have good ECs and my board exams where I took 9 subjects (did IGCSE 9th to 10th Grade) and got 7A*s and 2As. Now I'm a Junior at an International School in India. My brother got into Stanford and is attending there now, would that make me a legacy? And if I applied EA with let's say a range of a 3.7-4.0 GPA and a 2000+ SAT score, would I stand a good chance to get in? Also, assuming that my essays are good.

There are many people smarter than me in my school I'm maybe in the top 15% of my class right now out of 120 kids. I know I'm not the smartest, but I guess a legacy in EA would give me a leg-up in admissions? I'm just wondering because I don't want to get my hopes up too much, otherwise I'll apply somewhere else ED. So if someone could just tell me if I have a chance EA of just being Deferred with my stats as mentioned above, and a sibling legacy EA.

:)

srry thats not legacy

Even a true (i.e. parental) legacy is virtually worthless unless accompanied by the promise of great philanthropy.

EA has absolutely no advantage applying early. Most qualified kids are applying early, so you are competing with the best.
