So I have three Cs on my transcript, how will that affect me?

I have applied to many top programs for EE PhD like Stanford Berkeley MIT UTAustin CMU

I have also applied to some strong, but tier 2 schools like Columbia, Northwestern, and Princeton (not that theyre bad, theyre still extremely competitive, but still not in the top 10 officially which is why I call them tier 2 lol).

I have three Cs on my transcript: Chemistry, Electromagnetics, and MEMS.

Chem - I never got it, it was made unbelievably difficult at my institution (an ivy)
E&M - the prof never taught out of a textbook thinking his lectures were so awesome (they sucked) and I ended up getting lost in the subject.
MEMS - I dont know how this guy graded us, but I thought I was doing well in the class.

My overall gpa is still 3.5 since I've done well in everything else.

So, do you think that they will they raise their eyebrows in question at my Cs???

Almost nobody has a perfect transcript. If you think they are a major cause of concern, mention something in your SOP to make them seem less relevant.

Should be fine. It’s more your GPA that matters, I imagine, and your GPA seems fine.

Also, Princeton is in the top 10, UTAustin isn’t (at least according to US News).
