Bikes aren't the best idea because the campus has a lot of hills. I've never seen the campus because I've never been there. My dad said that one of his friends from work went to UCSC and that his friend said it would be good to have a bike and now my dad thinks I should get one. So do people ride bikes often or is it rare? And is it really hard to ride a bike around campus?

Up to you. I have some friends that bike. If you don’t mind the hills its worth it. Because the campus is very large, and on weekends the buses come rarely. Not to mention in the north end of campus, there are a lot of trails and manmade slopes for mountain biking.

It depends on your endurance some people can handle the hills and some can’t if you can I say bring one I’ve seen a lot of people who rides bikes to and from classes.

Yeah I think I am.
I love good workouts :)

I currently just finished my first year at UCSC. Many people do ride their bikes on campus, however it is a bit tricky and i feel like it’s not worth it most of the time. However, i would definitely recommend bringing a bike for recreational purposes. Me and some friends like to bike down to the beach or even downtown…it beats riding the bus any day.
