So I just submitted the Master Promissory Notice, what now?

I got an email that saids

Before you may complete your eMPN, the Financial Aid Office must transmit your information to the Federal Direct Loan Servicer.

What am I suppose to do exactly? Thanks

Did you submit a Stafford Loan Request to USC? It sounds as though - at the time you attempted to submit the MPN - the Federal Direct Loan Servicer had not been notified that you intend to borrow. It should be simple to fix.

If you haven’t submitted a Stafford loan request, submit one. If you have submitted it, check that your student ID was correct on your MPN submission. If it was, call USC financial aid and tell them what the email said. Have your student ID available. They should be able to get it staightened out in a day or two.

Thx alamemom for the help (again :)). I have no idea who the Federal Direct Loan Servicer is so i probably didn’t notify them about the loans.

Your Federal Direct Loan Servicer is the University of Southern California :)

(This is new this year though, so lots of people don’t know that!)

Just curious of your last statement.

So that means when we’re taking a loan from the gov’t, we’re really borrowing from USC? ._. Or is it that we’re borrowing from USC who is borrowing from the government?

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question. It’s 5:00am here. I’m up listening to CollegeWeekLive stuff… I need sleep now, so I’ll go to sleep, lol.
