<p>GPA: About an 87 number wise UW, I know it is low, you don't have to tell me.
SAT II's- 2240/2400 US-740 Mathematics level 2-780 ( I know...) Spanish w/listening- 720 (estimate of the worse I could do)
SAT- I don't have to take it, new score policy (Yay!!)
ACT- 32 Composite, 11 Essay ( this means one person thought it sucked and gave me a 5)
Schedule: Most rigorous at HS, took all honors and AP.</p>

<p>to be honest, since NYU Abu Dhabi hasn’t had an official class yet, there’s really no way to figure out whether you are a match for the AD campus. </p>

<p>to put it in perspective, there’s about 100 seats for the 2014 class at AD. </p>

<p>you’re a very high match (you should know how i roll by now, i never tell anyone they’re “slam dunks” or “totally in”) and very competitive for CAS. </p>

<p>i don’t know how admissions works for Freshman Honors or Presidential, sorry. </p>

<p>Bud, judging from your previous posts, you know more about NYU than 99% of our students do. </p>

<p>You’re a very solid candidate for CAS ED. I don’t see a point in chancing you for Abu Dhabi- I think you apply for the study abroad program once you’re accepted to the university. I don’t know much about Freshman Honors or Presidential Honors except that the latter is by invitation only to the top, top students in the school.</p>

<p>your ACT is above the average. you have internship experience. you’ve taken lots of APs. you have shown interest in NYU and you’re insanely dedicated. you have solid SAT IIs.</p>

<p>have you considered filling out an athlete’s form for wrestling? we have varsity wrestling here at NYU, and it might give you an additional edge. even if you don’t end up wrestling for all four years, the coach might be able to put a good word in for you. . .</p>

<p>no, students can apply to both NYU WSP and NYU AD now. it’s not a study abroad site, it’s a whole campus.</p>

<p>No way. Freida Pinto is a goddess. I mean, don’t get me wrong, Alba would be a high match for me, but I heard she likes mathematics majors, and frequently puts on a “show” at Courant. Truth.</p>

<p>ajrover-noooooooooooo IPhone spam!!! Anyways, I had to apply to a school in New York City because that is where most of my family if located, and family is very important to me. Also, a lot of people tell me why not Columbia ED? Well, Columbia is in a terrible neighborhood in Manhattan, and would not serve the lifestyle I would want to live. I want to be in the middle of it all, not a train ride away lol. Also, despite from the social aspect, Columbia has a HUGE core. I come into NYU with 32 credits/a whole YEAR of study. I am basically an academic Sophomore. At Columbia…not quite. Also, because of the fact Columbia has such a huge core, I won’t be taking ( in my opinion) enough classes that actually have to do with my major. I love literature ( I read 22 novels last summer) and I have many hobbies, and I have nothing against liberal arts, ( I am applying to CAS…) but if you look at the Columbia course catalog it is disgusting. I have to take like 2 history courses, 2 hard science courses, and honestly, I want a lasseiz-fare college experience. I don’t want a campus, screw school spirit, I am in this by myself. I don’t want anyone to be holding my hand in NYC. ( Besides Freida Pinto…)</p>

<p>Columbia is not in a terrible neighborhood, I’m moving to a place in Morningside Heights this year and it’s pretty nice, near Morningside Park and Columbia (beautiful campus, nice library :)) but I get why someone wouldn’t like the columbia core.</p>

<p>Overall you’re looking pretty good except for GPA: an 87 = B+ = 3.3UW. I had a 3.6UW with 9 AP’s and was LSP’d…although my SAT was only 2140 and your ACT is pretty good, and your EC’s are better than mine. So if you’re doing ED I’m guessing you’re a match for CAS, I don’t know anything about abu dhabi though. </p>

<p>Yeah, I just started to work on my short answers, and thank GOD I enjoy the questions. As for the common app…I have been lazy :P. Anyways, I am pretty stressed about NYU, I have seen some other kids from my school get into the normal program, but I am really looking at the Presidential Honors Program, which basically kicks major butt. You basically get catered to in NYC. I mean, free tickets, first class picks, you’re basically able to skip to the “front” of the line ahead of everyone else. Anybody else want to chance or comment??? </p>

<p>som1- Yeah thank you for the encouragement. I just don’t want to be a sternie for many reasons though. To keep it succinct, I just can’t learn in a hostile environment. ( Also the average GPA for Stern is a 3.2, while the average for CAS is 3.6, which is a HUGE difference when it comes time to apply to graduate schools.)</p>

<p>Well at least Slumdog was a better movie than both Transformers. Megan Fox doesn’t necessarily have to rely on her acting skills ( or lack thereof) as much as her good looks to pull her through. Freida is such a better actor than Megan.</p>
