Should I even bother with these schools anymore?

i thought stanford financial aid deadline was february 15th.

What is everyone getting all riled up about? Yesterday was the FIRST DAY you could even START to do the FAFSA. You still have plenty of time..

I heard Stanford's was the 1st... Like Cornell's

Omg lol.... darn.. I never realized that.... can we still apply after deadline?

Anyone know what to do??? I just got started on my CSS profile!!

Contact the financial aid offices and ask for an extension.

ok nvm I found my answer for Cornell!

"The deadlines listed exist in order to provide you with a timely notification of your aid decision. Applications received after the deadline will still be considered for all forms of financial aid, and will be processed as soon as possible."

It's Feb 15..

Yeah, I haven't gotten everything in for Cornell yet, and from what I hear, these are just general guidelines, not really deadlines.

@thankyouall: could you post the link where you got that from?
o and on the css profile, they say that cornell is due jan. 5…

I think that deadline may apply to Cornell’s own Financial Aid app, 2010 Profile and last year’s (2008) tax return. That gets the ball rolling. Then you submit this year’s (2009) tax return as soon as you have it. You may need to make changes to the Profile. I believe you need to do this directly with Cornell (no online update system like with FAFSA). At least this is the way it was a few years ago when my son applied. He almost forgot about Cornell’s separate FA app, which wasn’t online and had to be mailed to a separate address.
