I don't think I'm that good with the SAT material. I got a 173 on my PSAT after a bit of summer studying. However, I have studied more since then. Though my study efforts only consist of practice problems out of a couple books, does anyone think I have a chance at a 2140?

I suppose what I am asking is, how have your PSAT and SAT scores compared? And can an SAT score be dramatically higher without becoming a genius overnight?

There's quite a few very intelligent people on this board, and I know I do not match up. However, a 2140 cannot be impossible, am I correct?

I am so nervous to get my scores back on Thursday.

It is in the 90th percentile, and is definetely a feat to achieve it. I myself am working towards a 2200 + score right now, and it just takes practice. More than anything, you have to do every problem you can get your hands on daily, and practice from every prep book you can (even if that means going to a local book store, sitting there, and reading it). Also, focus on weak points. I.E. if you know you are bad at math, work on that. Ideally, you need 700 in each subject to surpass 2100 but it often doesn't work that way-- so focus on two strong points and try to get 750 in each, and just a decent score in the other (600-650).

This all sounds good in typing but it really is not easy, you have to work for it. Hopefully, when all is said and done, you will get your score and ultimately your scholarship (: Hope this helps, good luck, sir.

It's in that link! On the chart! In the orange! I did a rough SAT score comparison and determined that the minimum required score on the 1600 scale was equal to about a 2140 on the 2400 scale.

Haha, "Do not match up." Don't worry too much, a 2140 is very achievable. There are plenty of helpful threads around here. The key is practice intelligently (under simulated conditions) and you'll do fine.

soph year psat: 167
junir year psat: 209
junior yr sat practices: ~2150
im actually like 5 hrs away from geting my score so idk, but its certainly possible. just get 4 books and rip thru em like uve never read a book before. i suck at sat, but im sure you can do it with a little practice.
