I posted this in the transfer forum too so sorry if I'm spamming anyone.

I've been calling the CSULB admission status line, and it's changed from "Your application has been received" to "An admission decision has been made." I've been reading past discussions and from what I can gather, everyone who's been accepted has immediately heard, "Congratulations, you've been admitted to the such-and-such program for fall 2011" while everyone who's simply heard that "an admission decision has been made" usually gets rejected.

Has anyone been accepted after hearing "an admission decision has been made?" I can't call the office until Monday.

I have to say I'm kinda shocked. I have a 3.7 GPA from the two community colleges I've attended, I've taken honors classes, and I've fulfilled all of the requirements. The thing is, I moved from southern California to the Bay Area last fall. I was enrolled at Fullerton College, and I think if I'd stayed there I would have gotten in, but now I'm at the City College of San Francisco.

I know CSULB majorly favors local students, but in these discussions I've heard of local students getting in with 2.9 GPAs while 4.0 out-of-state students and non-local in-state students are rejected. Someone from a previous forum got into NYU even though they were rejected from CSULB. Someone else got into Cal Poly SLO.

I got into Cal State Fullerton (with honors) and Sacramento and San Francisco State. I'm still waiting to hear from Berkeley and UC Irvine. I really think I still have a decent shot (I have a lot of extracurriculars and volunteering that CSULB didn't consider, and my essay should have been good too). But I'm sad... I wanted CSULB. :-(

So... anyone ever gotten in after hearing "an admission decision has been made?" I'm not getting my hopes up.
