I was admitted to UCSD as an engineering major, which is probably where I'm going to transfer. I also applied to UCB, which requires an English series. So, I am currently taking English Lit. to finish the series. The one and only reason for taking this class was to be eligible for UCB. I don't need it to to fullfill IGETC or units, nor is it a pre-req. for engineering at UCSD (or any other school I applied to).

However, I hate the class. I am getting a B, but if I don't get into UCB on Thurs. I am thinking of dropping it. It would help my GPA and ease my workload by just taking a W, and the drop date for the class is conveniently a few days after UCB decisions.

What I was wondering, from anyone that might know:

Is there a risk of being rescinded from UCSD (or other school) because of dropping the English class?

Would it be worth it to stay in this English Lit. class to fulfill any electives at UCSD? (Earl Warren College)

I tried calling UCSD about this, but the phone lines have been busy all day. I also talked to the people in my transfer center, and they think I should go ahead and drop it also. They also don't think it'll fulfill any electives at EW college.
