so i want to be a diplomat...

I really want to get into the foreign service after college so i am looking for a school with a good IR program and connections to the state department.

Is the Georgetown SFS the best or should I focus more on HYP + Stanford?

Or Williams/Amherst/Bowdoin?

Basically I'm asking, which school in the United States would prepare me best for a career in the state department?

Thanks

I think SFS at G-town is very unique and students of SFS choose the school over Ivies. Beside, the location at D.C. is a plus!

you can get a much better education at georgetown, in my opinion. at ivies, your professors don’t want to help you because they’re busy being academics, and your TAs don’t want to help because they have dissertations. Georgetown is small and intimate enough that while you don’t get the attention of an LAC, you get someone who’s willing to help.

that being said, being a diplomat is a very political job. it’s not something you get to by qualifications alone.
