If you got SAT / SAT II / ACT scores that high in MIDDLE SCHOOL, you are definitely on the right track for any Ivy or top school you want to go to, MIT included. You are extremely impressive-- number 1 in your class and class President?

If I had to bet my life, you will have no problem going to any school you want to. Just stay focussed.

Thanks guys.
Ironically, chance threads, which are generally fail ego boosts, contributed to my success, namely a single thread–this one. My success is pertinent to many of the statements I took in a critical manner at that age–“Get Off”, “Do something interesting”.
Honestly, in my experience, I would say the best thing to do to ‘get into MIT’ is to forget it exists until October 1st Senior Year (or junior year in my case), make sure your high school curriculum is challenging but also interesting and fun for you, and make sure you do what you love. If you didn’t get into MIT after that, MIT was probably not the best match for you.
After thinking about it long and hard, any school other than MIT seems ‘not me’ to me. MIT is where I think I’ll fit in; the majority of the people I’ve met through many awesome math camps (no, literally, awesome math summer program) are MIT kids (well the majority of the college going ones, the rest are like Phillips Exeter kids :P).
Also, ultimately, I think it depends on whether you embody the MIT culture; “MIT’s mission is to use science and technology for the betterment of society”. If you fully embody it (and because it is you and not because it is what MIT wants from you) and are academically qualified, I think you stand a more than fair chance at getting into The Institute.
