Hey kara, I also read that Brown doesn't focus on test scores as much as some of the other Ivies do. If Dartmouth or Brown truly is your first choice, and finances are not an issue, I say apply ED.

If finances are an issue, should I not apply to them ED? I'm definitely going to be on financial aid, as long as I'm applying to a private school.

I heard that anyone applying ED with get a low financial aid package since the ED contract is binding. I am not fully sure though.

Not all schools, but I know the Ivies promise to meet your "demonstrated need" with financial aid. Brown doesn't include workstudy in this for freshman year. When someone asked about the locking you into a lower financial aid package thing, they said that it hardly ever happens, but sometimes a student will not be able to pay anyways. And then they went on about how sad that was. I guess if you can't pay even with their financial aid package, then they can't really lock you in.

I think you have a chance... depends what you want to major in...

Um, I think if I didn't go to CMC, I would want to create my own major modelled after one at Oxford called PPE (Philosophy, Politics, and Economics).

hehe your Filipino..me too! :)

Filipino pride :)
