You know, the classes that "weed out" students. I've heard it about organic chemistry, but it really surprised me to find an archived topic on CC about how Gen Chem and english composition were hard classes. Really? Is it still the case now?

i've heard that about gen chem, too. and regarding english comp, I think it usually depends on which teacher you have. it would be silly to make a required class (especially one that doesn't serve as a prerequisite to, well, anything except sophomore year) a weed-out.

And how are PNP courses compared to bio major courses?

well bio majors have to take gen chem for sure (and orgo, i'm nearly positive), which the PNP kids avoid... i admittedly don't know jack about the sciences at washu, but i think there are two main PNP tracks you can take, one of which focuses more on the cognitive neuroscience aspect of the program and is more "science-y". that said, those kids don't have to take chem. a very good resource would be the PNP homepage which you can probably access from the artsci page on washu's website
