So if I appeal, can I get into Fall 2009 term?

I got rejected the Fall 2009 term :( :( but if I appeal, can I get into it? Also, how do I go about this appeal process?

Oh yeah, I got into the Spring 2010 term...not exactly what I was looking for...

It depends, they review your application over-so if they feel you would do better in the fall, then maybe. You can suggest what term you want, but it is their final decision if they admit you for that term or another. Remember, it matters most getting in-not the term so much. And if granted spring, get those courses out the way at Santa Fe.

Sorry, but how do I appeal though?

My bad, I just read where it says you got in the Spring term, I thought you were denied. Well, maybe you should call them next week, explain your reasons and make sure it is something worth while for them to be changing you. Because they do not usually make the changes, only few will get granted.

And I'm not sure if you have to appeal to make this change. But why are you worried about Spring term? If you dont mind me asking.

I second how does on appeal!!!???

How good of a change do I have if I apply for spring TRANSFER from UCF?

I do not know exactly how the appeal process goes. Probably a second review of application, recommendations, essay about why you want to attend, higher grades (increasing the gpa), if retaken SAT/ACT did you improve. I am just guessing, but I believe due to budget cuts they are only admitting applicants from other intitutions with an AA(60+credits) so just check back with them, they know what you need to do.

keezy, i'm just an anal person who LOVES UF and doesn't wanna go through all the hassle of transfering schools and going to a cc. i got accepted into other schools, but i really want to go to UF for all 8 semesters. ha ha.

but again, how can I appeal?

alright then, well like I said before, I do not know how the appealing process/package works for sure. But if you have been admitted, maybe you can just call them and explain your "legitimate" reasons why you need to enroll in the fall. good luck, if there is an appeal, it will not be up yet until the admissions committee completes it, and you may have to call or email an request. You'll find out in the following week or so.

oh ha ha. sorry keezy. it took my computer 10 minutes just to post my last post. thanks so much for the advice.

no problem, and good luck.

I went through the process last year.

Basically, you just email them asking for your appeal. Provide your ID #. However, there is a rule that you have to have some kind of "new material" that was not included with your original application, or you can't appeal. If you didn't send it in after the holidays, a midyear report could probably get you around that rule.

You will get a packet in the mail with instructions. You are given the opportunity to write a one page letter to the appeals committee to give your case for admission. THIS IS YOUR VOICE. Include your letter with the completed authorization and consent form in the instruction packet, and mail it in.

I believe last year the first appeals were reviewed in mid-March. There is no online notification of a successful appeal, or deadline for when they finish. You simply wait for another letter to come back to you. It's agonizing because you never know it's going to come, and you're 99% certain it'll be a 2nd rejection.

The appeals process is more or less there to comply with the Board of Governors rules which require one. It's really supposed to exist for applications that were handled incorrectly and such, but of course, people appeal for just about any reason.

thanks dvm!! is this letter going to come with my 'acceptance into the spring 2010 term?'

dvm, did a letter ever tell you if you were rejected or did you have to call them, since they didn't tell you online.

The letter I got back after the appeal was sent said the decision was upheld, so I was still rejected. I didn't need to call them to find out.

Boss, you need to request the appeal packet separately.

So should I just call the UF admissions office for this?

yes, some say emails, but why not do both? especially if you're determined.

awesome. i will be on it!

good luck, let us know how it goes..

I will. See, UF was probably my 2nd choice but now that I'm essentially 'rejected' I REALLY WANT TO GO!!
