So if we are waitlisted...

Helicio, haha I also accepted Duke but waitlisting for Columbia
good luck!

haven’t heard back yet but i called today and they said they are going to use their waitlist and the latest they will notify us is june.

more waiting… sigh… good luck to all =]

Dart, did they specifically state that they “are going to use their waitlist”? Did they say whats the earliest date we will know? I know the letter states May 15 but maybe the plans have changed.

Good Luck to everyone ! This whole process does require a lot of patience but the winners never give up, the game’s not over yet I guess.

oh i confirmed specifically

me: “are you guys going into the waitlist this year”
columbia: “yes we are. the latest we will notify everyone is june”

lol… i dont like this waiting game xD

Me either. This whole college process is so tiring.

when i called to make sure they received my letter,
the person said

“we’ve added the file for review should we go to the wait list this year”
…SHOULD?
idk, that just made me wonder if the yield was high for this year

or am i over analyzing it? LOL

helloitsme, when did you call? im curious to know because if it was in the last couple days thats definitely odd but if it was a few weeks ago they might not have known for sure at that point.

it was yesterday.

agh…

continuing on that note,
is there quotas for columbia?
is it regional quota, or racial quota, talent quota etc etc

they’re not using their waitlist this year :frowning:
it’s official

… where did you hear that?

if it’s true… that sucks :(

Just spoke with a parent whose S is turning down Harvard for Stanford. She says he logged onto the Harvard website to turn down the offer, but it won’t let him say “no, thanks”. It keeps extending the date for the “final” decision, now at May 8th.

So Harvard either might be having trouble with maintaining its stellar yield (75+%), or that’s just one technique they use to keep the yield so high!
