So if you apply ED, are you screwed if you get in but don't have finances in place?

Does NYU really not offer some type of time lapse? (And I already know that the financial aid sucks something serious, this is just a general question)

Your question is confusing, ‘time lapse’? I THINK that if NYU does not meet financial need, you can get out of the ED contract.

Sorry, time lapse was what came to mind, but not quite the right word. I mean, if you get in ED, but don’t have your finances in place, they let you out of your contract, and you can’t go to NYU at all?

You can call admissions and ask for sure, but I think that’s how it goes. And thus, the conundrum of ED.

I see. I sent an email about a month ago, still haven’t gotten a reply. I’ll deal with this when I visit in September (during fashion week, if that’s even possible)

NYU accepts the Common Application; here are the rules:

You just say thanks but no thanks, and apply elsewhere at RD time.

As poor as NYU’s FA is, they must get a bazillion declines from applicants, but they figure it into their yield calculation.
