So I'm declining admission this year but may reapply next year. How should I do this?

Thanks for all the advice…as for taking a year off - it’s not to buy more time…(well, I guess it sort of is…) it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. I already have my plans made as to where I’m going to go for missions/volunteer this summer and fall during my gap year.

I thought you weren’t allowed to apply to anywhere else during a deferral…also what was the re-application process like for her? How did she manage to get all the teacher recommendations/transcripts in while she was out of school?

Also, how do I decline a school “nicely”? Should I just press that decline button or should I really send in a letter?

Press the decline button.

Then, send your admission rep a nice email thanking him/her for the opportunity and stating that you are taking a gap year but have a deferred acceptance to X…you can state your regret at only being able to deposit at one college at this point in time and also the opportunities you will miss at school Y…all the best, Powerbomb
