So I'm down to about 7 schools...

I am a junior from AZ with a 3.8W/3.3 UW, 1870 SAT, 28 ACT, and outstanding EC's (in sports, music, leadership, religious, etc.) Hispanic, first-generation college student, Jewish, and paying my own way through school (no help from parent).

I've narrowed my choices down to (in no particular order):
-University of Arizona (in-state)
-San Diego State University
-Chapman University (may consider playing softball there since it's D3)
-Pepperdine University (as a Jew, would I absolutely hate it?)
-University of Texas at Austin
-University of Tennessee at Knoxville
-University of Miami

I'm planning on majoring in either physiology or athletic training/sports medicine (if I decide to go pre-med) or sports/fitness management. not all of these majors are offered at all of these schools.

I'm looking for a school that has a friendly and active community (i.e. sports, Greek life, good social scene). Proximity to home is not an issue for me. A school that would be likely to grant scholarships is a plus, as well.

I won't get a chance to visit many of these schools. Which schools would you reccomend?

If you’re paying your own way, I’d go with UofA or a WUE(?) tuition school, or a school where you’d get significant aid/merit money.

UofA is your best bet, however.

Thanks for your input. At U of A, I’d probably major in physiology. Staying in-state would also be the best decision financially if I pursue medical school. Thanks again!
