I applied single choice early action to Tulane in hopes that would increase my chances in getting in, however I thought this meant that Tulane was the only school I could Early Decision for and nothing else, nothing to deal with early action. Well I was applying to Ursinus, and I accidentally submitted in under early action just because I want to be accepted somehwhere soon for the heck of it, however this goes against Tulane's rules? What should I do? Is there anyway I can take back Ursinus's early action, because the only reason I applied there because there was no application fee, I do not even want to go there whatsoever. Will I receive an automatic rejection from Tulane when they see this?

Call Tulane, tell them you want to switch from single choice early action to normal early action.

Actually, if Tulane is your real first choice, I would call Ursinus and tell them you want to change to RD. However, assuming you are being straight with us (and I have no reason to believe otherwise, else why bother to even post here), since you simply made a silly error I wouldn’t worry about it too much. If Ursinus cannot change your app status, at least you made the effort to correct your error. It isn’t like these schools have some network or giant bulletin board where they can see you applied to two schools EA, SCEA, ED, or anything else. It is an honor system. I will take you at your word that you didn’t intentionally violate a promise you made to Tulane. Sometimes that doesn’t matter, sometimes it does. In this case I think intent matters, but to really be morally consistent you have to at least make the effort by calling or e-mailing Ursinus admissions. I think it will make you feel better about it too. Beyond that, you shouldn’t worry about it.

I am struck more by your comment that you do not want to go to Ursinus whatsoever. If you really don’t want to go, even if its the only school you get into, you could consider just withdrawing your application.

Wouldn’t a guidance counselor or office secretary notice that you applied SCEA and ED to two different schools? They would then be obligated to inform you on the small mistake.

I think the people at the high school are at least as overworked when it comes to college apps as the admissions offices at the colleges. It is unlikely most would notice such a thing, and SCEA is a mystery to a lot of them anyway. Also, he didn’t say he applied to Ursinus ED, he said EA. ED would create another problem.

My brother goes there so I was forced to apply there, trust me if I had total control over the applying process I would not have applied

I truly did not do this intentionally, there really is no point in applying to Ursinus Early Action since I knew I was going to get in, or at least my chances were great in getting in, Tulane was definitely borderline for me and hence the reason why I chose Single Choice Early Action since it is definitely in my top schools if not my top choice. I will be contacting Ursinus to have my application changed from Early Action, where can I find to contact them though? I am not able to find it on their website
