So I'm unable to send in letters of rec to Georgia Tech

Yes, yes, some of the blame lies with me for this dilemma. It IS the last day, and procrastination has been an unforgiving enemy.

But bear with me--I blame my district. They signed up for Naviance god knows when and our transcripts and recommendations are supposed to be sent in from there.

Yet they have not activated or given any attention to the program, and I am now stuck with a "sorry kid," from our assistant principal. I was told everything would be up and running tomorrow. More specifically, everything would be up and running AFTER GT's EA deadline. Lucky me.

Now had I been earlier than early action, perhaps I would have the time to send in the letter through mail. But I take blame for that. But apparently, my friend has been bothering our district every day for the past week to activate the damned program because she needs her letters of rec for Harvard's early decision by November 1st.

So my plan as of now is to get a letter written from my principal asking GT to consider my application that gets sent in a day late for early action.

Is that a futile hope? Any advice/mishaps/similar experiences anyone would like to share?

Thanks for reading!

Bump

Go ahead and apply with as much of the paperwork as you can get to GT. Then, send an email separately to the admissions office there, and let them know that you have just been informed that your school’s Naviance system is down, and that it is expected to be functioning tomorrow. Ask them very politely who you should let know as soon as you know that Naviance is functioning so that they can check for the rest of your paperwork.
