So in 10-15 years from now

How much harder do you think getting into college will get?

It should be substantially easier, given projected US demographics, but maybe not: There'll probably be a big uptick in highly qualified internationals.

Growing tension between China/South Korea and Japan would form a convenient alliance of mainland Asia vs. US/Japan. International applicants will be more likely to invest in their own countries and especially in the growing might of China. Taiwan's new President Ma (KMT) party will support eventual reunification and with the thread of Taiwan independence gone, China will focus on Japan.

The re-armament of Japan will force the Chinese/Russian/Korean alliance even closer and China will likely move military forces into blue waters to defend natural/oil deposits claimed by both nations.

Japan will look toward the U.S. but will not back down from their aggressive ideology. War will eventually erupt with each side escalating the tension.

Russia/India/China/Korea/Iran vs US/Japan/Israel.

Unfortunately, the EU is quite weak and even their assistance may not be as beneficial as we would like it to be. Nuclear strikes will first hit the East coast in large numbers and be delivered by the new Russian missiles that are unpreventable by missile defenses.

In summary: Yes, college admissions will be easier since most colleges will be in flames from nuclear holocaust.

...but colleges will be easier, right?

Why is India on the Russian/Chinese side?

Why isnt Pakistan on the US/Japan side then??

Why is there only one Korea? And why would S. Korea, protected from the North by the US, side against it?

And there is no way that Russia will ally with China, those two nations just don't like each other. You need to come up with a better doomsday scenario!

Yeah, I reeeally don't see Korea teaming up with Iran, thanks.

And to Dima343: Young Koreans aren't that happy with the U.S. The U.S. definitely does not "protect" us from the North. Especially the GIs in Seoul.. the Army pretty much sends the drunkards here cause there isn't any actual work to do in Korea, lol (this info comes from American GIs stationed in Europe). And most S. Koreans don't worry at all about Kim Jong Il. I think the American media way exaggerates the political situation here.

Sorry.. that was a lot longer than anybody wants to read..

To the OP: Yeah, getting into colleges will probably be easier. There was a baby boom in the late 80s, the effects of which are manifesting themselves today in the form of vicious admissions massacres in American universities, lol.

There is no "teaming". It will just be Middle East vs US and then a separate Asia vs USA.

And yea the Indians are closer with Russia/China than with the US. Look at the military trade and India's refusal to be part of a China-containment policy.

Russia is definitely closest with China. I think you need to stop living in the 20th century. Peace Mission 2005 anyone? How about SU30MMks or Kilos?
