So is anyone else applying EA?

Hey guys. thought I'd try to wake this forum up a bit. I'm David and applying to Emerson EA. Please tell me I'm not alone :D

Hey David, I'm Jess and I'm applying EA too. I'm kind of stressing out - I only decided about a week ago to do it, so I'm rushing on all of my essays.

What program are you looking at?

Hey Jess, I'm hoping to do some sound design/post production which is part of VMA

I'm also applying EA to the Film program. Intended career is Director or Cinematographer/DP.

Good luck everyone!

Hey guys! I'm Jill. I JUST decided to apply EA. I'm hoping to go for Writing and Publishing. I'm working on my supplement now... haha just curious, what did everyone title their life?

I am applying to Emerson under EA as well for film. What was your video on in your resume? I titled my life story the beginning of the end and I wrote about how my life is spontaneous and that i live every day as if it were my last.

My portfolio piece for film was a 4.5 minute music video I made for a local band. I think it turned out pretty good. How about you?

Good luck ;)

That title question killed me! I used 'One', like the beginning of a series. Not very creative, I know, but I went on about how I can't simplify my life with a title, blah blah, you can imagine the rest.

Hi everyone. I'm applying EA for Emerson (well, since the deadline passed, I already applied hehe). I have a really neurotic question though, and I feel like I've bothered the admissions office enough: as of Nov. 1, everything was in except for my teacher recommendation. I spoke to my teacher, and she said she sent in her rec a week ago from Friday. I'm from New Jersey, so I don't know how long it takes for Boston to get mail from here. My assumption is that Emerson has been inundated with mail and may not have gotten to the rec yet. But my question is, will Emerson not look at my app because technically it was "incomplete" on Nov. 1?

you should be fine. Colleges usually send you an email saying if you are missing anything and you have time to get it to them. so especially if your teacher already sent it i think you will be ok

Hey, guys! I also applied early - got my stuff in Halloween evening. Just out of curiosity, did anyone else do the same thing? And if so, have you gotten your confirmation e-mail yet?

Thanks, blujeanbebe. Turns out that Emerson got one of my teacher recs today - but it's the supplemental one from one of my math teachers. Since I'm applying under the Writing program, I sent as my primary recommendation a letter from my junior English teacher...should I contact admissions and let them know that a second letter is on the way/should be there or let them sort things out? I feel like I've bothered them enough this past week.

as long as it is an important message for them they shouldnt see it as bothering, you are just trying to be helpful. however it should be ok if you don't call them. either way

gelato, I submitted my app on the night of 10/30 and have yet to hear a peep from Emerson.

Ditto, I sent mine in on Halloween morning and haven't heard a thing. I was a little worried, but since you guys haven't heard anything either...

It wouldn't hurt to let the office know that another letter is coming, but I don't think it's necessary. Better safe than sorry, I suppose.

Hmm I look at the credentials check website (you should have the site and ID number if you got the letter)---and it says it hasn't received the HS Report Guidance counselor rec (though it says who my guidance counselor is in the comments/HS Transcript 1/Proof of HS Graduation/ and Midyear Grade Report. Now I can understand why it doesn't have the proof of graduation or midyear report because those don't exist yet, but is it worth inquiring why they haven't apparently received the former 2? or do you guys have a page that says the same thing

I did EA for Emerson too, Film production! Hollar

I actually missed the deadline but they let me send it in on the 4th anyway, :].

I really hate slideroom, converting my video to that size turned it into unwatchable junk, and then it refused to take it. -_- So I had to mail a DVD with an explanation, so hopefully that all works out.

Sagecoll, I imagine they're still sifting through a huge pile of forms, etc. I haven't even gotten a letter with the URL of the site you mentioned, so I'd say you're still ahead of the game.

Is it a letter or an email? I haven't gotten mine yet, either, and I was trying to figure out if I should be worried or not.

Yeah, just to elaborate I got a letter from Emerson (the front said "Important information enclosed". It included 2 sheets: 1 being a small yellow faq sheet about the admissions process, the other one being a white sheet with my info on top and an Emerson ID at the bottom. In the middle, it gave a paragraph about going to this site and using the given ID to check on your application status (if I was missing anything basically).

Anyone else get this? I can't be the only one
