So is anyone else applying EA?

They said it usually takes 5 days after you submitted it, so I'm expecting mine sometime this week since I submitted my common app on the 4th.

I also applied EA for film production and am eagerly awaiting a response

sagecoll - I got the same thing about a week after I submitted my application.

I just got the email yesterday and the letter came in today! Wooo!

hopefully this will be me next year around this time.

-High school Jr. :):)

I applied early action for musical theatre and had my audition Nov. 15th. I was invited to the Emerson Open House Fly In Program, so i was in Boston all weekend. It's pretty awesome =] I got the same letter but it took like 7-10 days. They dont give your ID out through email or the phone.. only snail mail. The admissions office told my guidance counselor monday that they are still currently sifting through the pile of mail they received before Nov 1st. Is anyone else counting down until December 15th.

ps. I titled my life "The Sparkle In Her Eye" and talked about dreaming big and my love for the stage..

Ahhh, I'm so excited / ridiculously nervous about December 15! I've been talking to the Emerson admissions people more than I would have hoped lately, as they had me split between two files because I go by my middle name, but I think that's all worked out, and now I'm just waiting for my honors college writing sample to "sift" into my application file. I'm glad to hear they're still going through the pre-Nov. 1 documents.

Did you guys happen to notice that there are already TWO Emerson College Class of 2013 Facebook Groups? Neither is very active, and I'll wait to join until I get in - I wouldn't want to introduce myself and meet cool people only to find out I'd been rejected.

Anyways, how are you guys passing the time twixt now and the arrival of your decision letters?

I applied EA theater studies with a concentration in performance. I just auditioned this saturday. I'm beyond nervous. Does anyone know how many theater studies they tend to admit from EA? Or when they actually start to send out the decisions?

I dunno anything about the theater statistics, but I believe they mail out the decisions for every major on December 15 (last year, people received the letters from 12/14 - 12/17). Did you have to audition in Boston?

yeah i did. damn, i thought they'd make sure the letters got here by the 15th or earlier for sure

So waiting sucks...

whistles word.

Actually, I'm spending a lot of time trying not to get my hopes up. Emerson's notorious for low financial aid. Anyone know what effect the now-official recession will have on aid? (Not that I'd expect any math kids to be wandering around these parts)

We were disappointed with Emerson's finaid... I wonder who gets any because we don't know anyone. I am currently trying ( again ) to get something for my daughter for spring semester, but I am not optimistic. today was the deadline, but her finaid officer isn't even working today. I have to say that I have had more help and courtesy from a school that my other daughter got into and didn't attend, when requesting one of the endless documents that Emerson requires.
I literally faxed 81 pages to them last week.

Haha my top two choices, NYU and Emerson, are both cheapskates. Lmao amn am I gunna be in debt. -_-

lje, do you think Emerson's worth it, assuming you get no aid? It seems like their administration has a lot of issues.

And do any of you EA kids know if Emerson notifies anyone of any merit scholarships in December?

I did a crappy video on my dog. Youc an check it out on yuotube. It's called ODE TO YORKIE. I don't have any prosumer materials yet. I am in no way talented when it comes to cameras but I love film and cinematography! I have like zero confidence right now!!!

gelato, my daughter is in her third year of Emerson..the only gripe I have is with their finaid office, which I find to be useless...both my daughter and her very close friend got accepted EA with no merit aid ( even though they were excellent students ) Our family financial situaions are different, but we were all disatisfied with how the finaid turned out for our children

But, we are also very satisfied with the educational experience that Emerson has had to offer...couldn't have been a better match, really
If you like to, you can pm me for more info :)

lje, if you don't mind me asking, what major is your daughter in?

I don't mind at all ,thetimewarp...she is a studio televison/ production major...minoring in marketing
