So is anyone for sure attending UCSB?

Hey guys, I'm 99% sure I'll be there in the fall. Have any of you guys decided to attend UCSB or awaiting decisions from other schools to fully commit?? I already got my estimated financial aid, and I'm satisfied with my award; I'm just waiting on UCB's decisions to SIR....So are you guys for sure attending, if so what's your major, where do you plan on living, are you getting a nice award from financial aid, or what's holding you back from filling out the SIR??

hey i’m for sure going to go there in the fall as well! my major is Econ and i’ll probably live on campus somewhere, haven’t really looked into it yet. I have sent in my SIR because i’m barely passing my calculus class and i’m actually worried i might not pass. So i’m gonna wait another month or so and see how i progress in the class. no point in wasting 100$ if i can’t pass the class

Hey man, I’m also an Econ major!! Hang in there brotha, you’ll be fine!! I passed Calculus thanks to YouTube(PatrickJMT)!! You should try it out!! Have you looked into Manzanita or Santa Ynez?? Those are my two top choices for housing!

Hey, I’m most likely going to be at SB this fall as a Sociology major! I haven’t SIR’ed just yet because I’m waiting for Cal to release their acceptances. I’m most likely not getting in but a guy can dream, no? As for my FA package for SB, I’m just going to need to take out a small loan, not to bad. I also plan to live in either Manzanita Village or Santa Ynez apartments.

yeah same i was looking at manzanita but it’s still so far away so i haven’t looked too much… and i know i’ve been watching so many youtube videos for calc. the stuff doesn’t seem that hard, the teacher is just awful and the tests aren’t multiple choice so it makes it a little tougher :(

How did you guys check your Financial Aid for UCSB, did you make a UCSB.net ID? If so, how?

Scratch that holy crap $23K in scholarships and aid OSDFNSODFNSOINF WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

LOL I had an identical reaction when I saw my fin aid status lol ^^^

Wuddup Ramfan! Haven’t called you that in a while. Haha. I’m lovin’ all this free UCSB MON-AAYYY!

I’m definitely going to UCSB. :)

How much financial aid did you guys get? I got the Blue and Gold scholarship, for being a poor ass lol

Hey guys, I’m also 99% sure I’ll be attending UCSB this coming Fall 2013. I plan to live on-campus the first year and I’m shooting for Manzanita Village or Santa Ynez. Like many others, I’m just waiting on Cal but I really doubt I’ll get in. Would love to make some connections with some fellow future Gauchos, especially from a success-minded group of individuals like you College Confidential posters ;-)

@nquyen, Congrats!! Could you teach me how to check mine? Thanks!

UCorBust5: UCSB Transfer Students (Fall 2013) join it on facebook!!

^Thanks, Ramfan! Join the Facebook group, guys!

Hey, @unknowngap, on my financial aid letter it says I’m eligible for Blue and Gold. Does yours state a specific amount of money that you’re getting from Blue and Gold?

can you guys chance me on my thread? Much is appreciated! :)

nguyen!! what scholarship did you get?!

@larinaga , basically if you’re have the blue and gold they cover the cost of tuition with scholarships and grants of various kinds. Blue and Gold is just the sugar coated name of covering your tuition costs with free money lol

For sure I’m attending  Economics and Accounting major here. I plan on live with a few buddies out in IV and I’m getting around 20k in grants and 2k in work study but according to the estimate I have to come up with 7.5K for other expenses. I haven’t SIR’ed yet but I plan to  See you all in the fall!

Yes, I am still waiting on UCD and UCLA (Not counting on an admittance there, and if I do it will be for Poli Sci, which I don’t want to do lol). UCSB is most likely the school I will be attending. My major is Environmental Studies. 20k in grants, and 2k in work study. So I have to come out of pocket with around 7k

im going to attend too! im still waiting on berkeley though. economics and accounting major! where are you guys planning to live? seems like san rafael is the only one for transfers

Is anyone going to take summer courses? I am.
