I have been wait listed for Texas a&m and I am hoping for either a direct acceptance or blinn team. I applied to general studies.

I am a high school senior and here are my stats:

Accademic stats
3.21 gpa ( I know it's not good, but the thing is that it has significantly improved since my freshman year,)
Sat: 1480 (I know it's bad)*
Cr: 520
Math: 460
Writing: 500
Class rank: 2nd quarter (this is the rank that a&m gave me because my school doesn't rank)

I also took a dual credit course at my school and received 6 hours for it. Also, I took an ap class my junior year. I am taking two other ap classes this year

Extra curriculars
4 years varsity football
2 years jv/varsity basketball
2 years jv/ varsity soccer
2 years varsity baseball
I was in my schools play junior year
I have 48 house community service
I am the co-founder of my schools investors club
I have been working a job as a clerk for 4 years (since freshman year) for 10 hours a week
Student council president
Spanish honor society president
I received my schools leadership award my junior year

I did essays A,B, and C and I know they are great. They are very personalized with great supporting details based on my experiences, and the experiences of others. I also have 2 great letters of recommendation.

** I don't know if this matters or not but I am Iranian and aside from English I speak two other languages, Farsi and Turkish**

I have been accepted into Texas tech, University of Texas at Arlington, University of Dallas, and Baylor University (summer program). I know my sat score is awful and I know my gpa is just as bad but I still feel I have a chance of getting in. I chose general studies as my major which isn't the most competitive major offered, I have improved significantly as far as academics goes considering how I started out. My first semester of my freshman year I had a 2.2 and now after the first semester of senior I have a 3.21 out of a 4.0. *I have pretty good ec's, a steady job for 4 years, I have leadership positions in clubs at my school, and I figure speaking 3 languages could help because I certainly don't see it hurting me.

I would really appreciate your opinions on whether I can get in directly to general studies, or be offered the Blinn TEAM program, or the summer gateway program.

I know students who have higher gap's and sat's and they have also been wait listed. I figure that the must see something in me if they are placing me on the wait list instead of flat out rejecting me. I know my chances of acceptance are slim to none, but I figure I must have a shot.

ps** I know this has been posted several times, and I would appreciate that those who chose to respond would only respond with helpful information**

Thanks, any insight would be greatly appreciated*
