Last Friday my guidance counselor told me that Penn had called him up, requesting him to fax them my first marking period grades and now Penn will see the B- I got in AP English. great.

God, people like you are ridiculous.

It is over, the one B you got in an AP course will completely ruin your chances.

You need to relax a little. If you dont get in, it probably wont be because of that one B on your transcript. Im sure your chances are pretty much the same.

well if they asked for my grades I'm assuming that meant I was borderline and thus the grades I received for mp1 would be one of the deciding factors. what i really want to know is whether my mp1 grades will hurt my chances:
AP Statistics: A
AP Spanish Lang: B+
AP Physics C: A-
AP Calculus BC: A-
AO English Lit: B-
H. Anatomy and Physiology: A

I should have put more effort.

No, they ask everyone for senior grades.
I'm curious, where do you go to school? (city-wise)

No they don't ask everyone for senior grades....and whether or not they hurt would depend on how consistent they were with the rest of your transcript.

well...they didn't ask my counselor to send grades (I asked her)...sooo I caleld up Penn and I was like HEY want me to send my first MP grades? and the lady was like uh sure. and so i was like OKAY! and i faxed em over.

but like. im worried cuz...i don tthink my stats are so high that i'd be a clear in, so if they didn't ask for my grades, that would mean i'd not be borderline..and since i dont think ti's above that, it'd have to be below. ahhh =/

I asked my counselor, and she was like, "Penn? No. They did't call." And I was like, "Are you sure?" And she was like, "YES CATCH..."
So I guess they don't ask everyone for their grades...or maybe I am just...REJECTED. grabs stamp and THUMPS A BIG R ON FOREHEAD

lol...i didn't wait for a call. i just asked my GC if i should, and she looked at them and was like "oh yes, these are GOOD grades!" so she faxed them over...

AP BC Calc: A-
AP English: A
AP Bio: B+
AP Gov: A
H 20th Century Fic: A
H Concert Choir: A+

see, hewa? mine are more or less the same as yours. nothing to sweat over.

yeah, penn didn't call my conselor either, but i sent in my grades anyways. my grades are all percents though...so i don't know how they compare...what letter grade is a 90 anyway?
music 94
philosophy 96
calculus 93
data management 93
canadian history 95

90 = A-
94 = A
96 = A
93 = A
93 = A
95 = A

damnnn, girl!

at my school 90 is a B+

they aks everyone applying RD for their senior grades but in this case the applicant was clearly borderline. Personally I wouldn't worry about it too much. And even if you get deferred you can make it up with kickass 1st semseter grades.

i called huntsman office today and asked about sending in 1st quarter grades. and the woman said something about that's not needed for Huntsman, Penn wants it though. So perhaps, if you were requested to send scores, they're considering you for the college/wharton?

they ask all the RD people for first semester grades. I didn't know that they asked ED people anything. I doubt that only a marking period grade would have any significant effect. A final grade of a B might hurt though.

One B won't keep you out...

but they'll definately laugh at you first before they admit you.

supposedly, penn didn't call for ANY senior grades at my school.
and thank god for that...

hey just for y'all that did get calls could u tell us your stats and stuff and what u thought your chances were anyway for the rest of us that didnt get the call

that was somewhat reassuring.
I applied to SEAS.
