<p>I also do that when I'm nervous, very nervous. I do make attempts to control it though. It's not something I want to continue doing, it's a horrible habit, I agree.</p>

<p>i know we went on past this post already, however, i have to make a point that non-native english speakers are not the majority who use "like, umm, etc." and that it could be more than one's background and more of one's environment.</p>
<p>during presentations i keep myself awake by counting the number times htey say 'like'</p>
<p>one girl clocked 30 in 60 seconds today.</p>
