So many careless mistakes :(

I am a junior trying to qualify for national merit. I recently took a practice PSAT test and scored a 214. This score is pretty good but might fall a little short to the cutoff for my state.
I got a 72 on CR 74 on math and 68 on Writing. The problem is I knew how to do all CR and math questions but made way too many careless errors!! I also made one in the writing section. Without the errors I should have scored at least 230 (80+80+70).

Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone have any suggestion on how to fix this? Is going through more tests in the blue book and practicing the only way to improve my accuracy?

Careless mistakes have literally cost me thousands of dollars in math competitions, as well as MOP qualification. Life is harsh…

Best way to overcome careless mistakes is simply to be organized when doing your work (particularly on math and reading problems). Never assume anything that could be true, or anything that is unsupported by any passage. Also, practice.

Practice and learn to be more focused, alert.
