Hi everybody, I have narrowed down my choices to four colleges: College of the Holy Cross, Loyola Maryland, UConn, and Stonehill. I am planning on majoring in Biology and following a Pre-Med track to later apply to medical school. I was wondering if anyone knew of any websites that gave statistics on how many students are accepted to medical school, or any statistic of that kind? I have searched all over!

Also, I was wondering if anyone had any input on which school provides the best track to medical school?
Thank you!

Your #1 criterion for choosing med school should be minimizing debt because med school is expensive and doesn’t have financial aid.
Second should be whether you feel confident you’ll be in the top 25% students (because med schools want a high GPA, regardless of where it comes from). HC is the best premed program, but it’s also SUPER competitive, so that professors won’t write committee letters (essentially barring from applying) candidates they don’t feel are strong enough. So, if you have excellent stats (check collegedata to see if you’re above the 75% line for GPA/scores) Holy Cross is a great choice, but if you don’t, it’ll be the end of your medical aspirations. In addition, if you’re not sure you want to be a physician, Holy Cross provides the best education overall (and about half students change their minds about med school during freshman year). If your stats aren’t in the top 25% for HC, then look at environment and “fit” (do you want a more personalized education with interactive classes? Are D1 sports very important to you?) Have you visited?
