Did anyone else notice the incredible amount of debatable answers in this month's reading section? The question about what both passages stated about Shakespeare had about three different answers that one could make a case for. Then there's the argument about derisive versus humorous. The sentence completion with Florida and New York really depended on the way you read it. The answers to a question in the arts and craft movement passages depended on where you found your information and the way you interpreted the text. The women's suffrage question had information in the passage that backed up two different choices. I've taken another SAT and an ACT, and I've never seen so much debate over reading questions!

Agreed! !!!

None of them were debatable. Every answer had a reason for being right. certain q's were very subtle, though.

I agree. I really spent time on the Shakespeare question. I put genius because both passages specifically said the Shakespeare was a genius. Passage 2 supported the erroneous view of Shakespeare but Passage 1 did not. It should be very interesting to see the ETS answers when the Q and A comes out in a few weeks.

I agree too. Sometimes I wonder if it was supposed to be based upon opinion.

For the shakespeare one i put that he was important for the economy answer, it didn't sound that stupid, and It was explicitly stated in both passages, for me this one of the harder small passage ones.

Lets come back in a few weeks once someone does the Q&A so we can end this debate once and for all please ^^

@123flash, you didn't notice the extreme sarcasm of the second passage?

simple and debatable :P

Tell CB they are tearing apart our community and to rethink their answer key so we can all be right. except the people who are really wrong.

I paid for Q and A and promise to post answers as soon as the test booklet arrives. I felt good about my answers when I put them down. Not so sure right now. Looks like Shakespeare question has three possible answers. I went back and forth between the genius answer and the erroneous answer. Didn't notice the economy answer. I put genius but now that I think about it economy could have been right.

For shakespeare, i put he was important for industry/economy
and that passage 2 last sentence was derisive.

I was pretty sure of my answers, but after seeing all this debate I dunno..

Yeah, same here

about Shakespeare Passage 2's last sentence, was it comical or derisive. I went with derisive, but people i know are debating that it can go both ways
