no. elitists think theyre better than everyone. i dont think im better than einstein.

You don't have to think you're better than EVERYONE to be an elitist--just those who are "below" you, a group which obviously is comprised of people who aren't in AP classes?

i cant even take aps anyway cuz im an 8th grader. i dont define a dummy as someone who isnt in advanced classes. a dummy is someone who lacks proper judgement. someone who clearly cant think atall. i know tons of lazies that i can tell are not idiots.

Maybe with age you'll learn that everyone is created equal ;)

Everyone has something to offer.

Nymets, you're forgetting that private schools cost absurd amounts of money - some people ARE genuinely stuck at the school in the area their parents chose to live.

omg we are not equal!!

i know you were kidding when you said that

No, I was totally serious. Everyone should be equal. Just because people aren't as concentrated academically as you are doesn't mean they don't deserve your time..

LA schools really suck

unfortunately, because you are an 8th grader, you are still pretty much packed in with the "dummy" kids, but as you move up through high school, and you show some promise, you will separate into the AP or honors classes, leaving the "dummies" behind to have classes all to themselves. then you won't have to worry about them so much, only about being the dummy in your class, where all the smart people are.

and to nymets: be careful what you say about private vs. public schools. the top schools by far in my state are public, including my own, and i wouldn't trade anything to be able to go to a private school, because the choices and flexibility of my school greatly outnumber anything that i hear about any school almost anywhere in the country, public or private. and we send just as many kids off to ivy league schools and what not as you private school snobs do (without having the wealthy backround).
and i believe it was the public schools of Naperville, IL that were top in the world in high school mathematics a couple years ago.

leah: you said all people SHOULD be equal. well they're not. and i dont care if theyre concentrated academically. as i said, i know tons of lazies that are clearly really smart. so...HA

Let me rephrase--I meant that everyone should be TREATED equally. Obviously we're not all clones of each other, but we all deserve to be considered respectfully rather than immediately judged as "dummies"..

no

tencharacatures

hahah that was so profound.

icantspellmyname is in 8th grade...he doesn't know much guys. Of course a 13 or 14 year old kid would make a topic as dumb as this. Him and nymets are just a bunch of spoiled kids who think they are a gift sent from above, stop acting like they are making great points.

Harlem, that was sarcasm. There's nothing about the word "no" that is truly profound.

It was a general statement, not at you. Everyone is acting like he's making good points, but he's just saying how he's better over and over again.

Agreed..if there's one thing I can't stand, it's an elitist.

wow ok. first of all, whoever said that their private school is better b/c of higher test scores has never taken an econ class b/c private school scores don't necessarily show how smart the students are. since they don't have to take anyone who wants to come in, they get rid of the lower portion of the test takers. this means the average score will automatically be higher.
public school definitely teaches you to deal with a lot of different kinds of people. you learn how to handle situations with people of a lot of different levels of intelligence and how to explain things to pretty much everyone.
i turned down the opportunity to go to a private school b/c my public school is just fine. they're willing to do so much more than the private school was. they have buses to take students to colleges in the area throughout the day to take classes we don't offer and they really care about the students. i definitely wouldn't trade my public school for a private one.

omg i completely agree...what is the point of trying to persuade someone to learn who has no will or want to do that. all those *ers do is mess up the reputation of shools, take away class time, and * everyone off

I fully agree with you
