At my old school i took 2 honors classes freshman year and 1 honors class sophomore year (and 1 AP).

At my new school, they weight your GPA and will not include a .5 weight for my honors classes because they don't even offer honors classes.

Currently my unweighted gpa is a 3.8 (as calculated by me using this website Online Conversion - Grade Point Average Calculator)

According to my new school my weighted gpa is a 3.9 (which makes absolutely NO sense because i got a weighted gpa of 4.2 this semester but at any rate) (4.2 + 3.8 / 2 = 4.0)

so..QUESTION 1

how is my weighted gpa excluding honors courses a 3.9 when my unweighted GPA is a 3.8 and i've taken 4 weighted classes (according to my school)? doesn't that mean my weighted gpa is a 4.2....or am i doing something wrong?

QUESTION 2

do colleges recalculate gpa? (i know that the UCs do) but would other colleges take the honors classes into account when looking at my GPA and recalculate it? or assume that they already added into them into my GPA?

QUESTION 3

do most colleges recalculate using 5.0 system or 4.0 system?
