So much for estimating and submitting early......

swimcat'smom, the 30-33% verification number is about right. My son was selected for verification the last three of his five year program, my daughter overlapped undergrad with son the last two years and she was never varified.

FAFSA numbers changed very little year to year. Our EFC was fairly low, but higher for d as she had significantly more earned income than did son. Both were at privates, merit aid for both was significant (son was full tuition fellow his last two years); federal aid included subsidized stafford, Perkins, and Pell (one year only) for s, d just subsidized staffords. I think the first year of verification was the year s got the small Pell.

Is it typical for returning students not to have to submit Profile or FAFSA until Feb. 15th or so? I realize exact dates will vary from school to school, but was just trying to get some kind of feel for what to expect in the future. This year my son is a HS senior and we first submitted Profile probably around the end of November, early December. It would be really nice not to have to estimate next year.

Daughter's college sent all current parents an email stating that the FAFSA and their specific fin aid form were both due 2/15. I do not know about other colleges.

Are there times when someone is selected for verification and the school never asks any questions?
