So nervous, son taking MCAT in 40 minutes

I’d have prayed for him but I’m allergic to cats. They make me sneeze and my eyes water. And I can only imagine what a 1,000 cats would do to me. ughhhhhhhh

My guess…if he felt calm and thought it was fun…he did very well.

You will let us know, won’t you???

Wow, just saw this. Prayers for great score!

Casino…ha ha. At first I was scratching my head…then aha!

lol

My .02 : your son was a NMF, which means he did very well on the PSAT and SAT and, generally speaking, he takes standardized exams well. The MCAT is just another standardized exam. Sure, PSAT/SAT are supposed to assess “aptitude” and the MCAT “achievement”, but that’s splitting hairs. Assuming he studied hard for the MCAT, he probably found that he was right in his standardized exam comfort zone when the test started. Many years ago, I did very well on the PSAT, SAT, and MCAT. I always thought at least 30% of my score was due to my ability to take standardized exams well. So, I’m sure he’ll be fine. Best wishes!

^^^

This is my younger son. He wasn’t NMF - just missed the cut-off. Older son, now graduated, was the NMF.

That said, this younger son may not be a super test-taker, but he is very dedicated to his classes and whatever he needs to study.

He feels pretty good about this test, but he did change an answer at the last minute only to find out after that his original answer was correct…so he’s kicking himself for that. I told him to stop looking for mistakes now. What’s done is done. It is what it is.

:)

And, now the wait! He’s off to Costa Rica next Monday which will help break up the month. :)

Continued prayers for safe travels, a great score, and peace for mom2ck!:)

I am sure that he did well… he has one amazing and knowledgeable mother who is helpful to everyone of us!

Sending good vibes his way! It sounds like he did well.

Thank you for everyone’s kind words.

Tuesday, May 1st, AMCAS opens. AMCAS is kind of a national clearinghouse for med school applicants. You send everything to AMCAS (transcripts, LORs, etcl) and you fill out forms, etc, and AMCAS sends everything out to the SOMs that you apply to. .

I was thinking about you and your son yesterday, with all that positive energy that came his way he had to do great! Good Luck for the test results!
