so nervous!

ahhhhh. i can't wait any longer. i submitted my app october 2nd and i recieved an e-mail last week stating that i was qualified for early action! wahoo!

i just hope they start rolling out the decisions sooooon. my guidance counselor said it would most likely be the second week of november. sound right?

also, i'm assuming that e-mail means they have all of my paperwork (i.e. test scores, recs, transcript etc).... they said it was 'complete'. hope so!

oh and one more thing. most of my friends that are applying are submitting their apps sometime this week; do you think we will get our decisions at the same time or will i get mine earlier..?

thanks! GO BLUEEEE

I really don’t know how they are doing decisions this year, it would be safe to assume that they will send a couple out prior to December, but the majority will likely be toward their deadline. You should have received an e-mail with Wolverine Access information, once you set up your account you can click on 'View Credentials" to see if they’ve received everything. I believe it takes a bit for your stuff to update if you need to send anything in, but if everything is complete it will say “Application is Complete” on the main screen.

If you browse some of the decision threads here, you’ll notice that decisions are sporadic. I think that if you’re a clear-cut admit you will be notified sooner. They review in batches as they download them from Common App, so if you are a so-so applicant, then you’ll probably be passed along until the deadline when they have to make a decision.

I’m a transfer applicant so I don’t know everything about the freshman admission process, but hopefully this is pretty accurate.

where does it say application complete Im pretty sure they received everything but it does not say “application complete”

When you log into Wolverine Access, the top left link under Admission that says “Application Status.” If you look at the next page it takes you to, it should say Application is Complete.

I’m in that same boat with you, OP. Best of luck to you!

Mag mine does not say that does that mean is it incomplete because I’m 99% sure its complete?

dddsss, not neccessarily… remember I’m a transfer so it may be a bit different for me versus your app. I would call admissions and ask counselor tomorrow or whenever. Maybe it’s irrelevant, but it could potentially save you lots of time if there is something that they aren’t tracking.

Thank you I will enter there help chat thing that they have just to make sure

I don’t really know where you guys are getting your information but I can guarantee that none of you hear before mid December. Just get used to waiting, I went through it last year and survived, nobody heard before December. The first person to reply said it’s “safe to assume” that some people will heard in November; that is not so.

yea from what Ive read no one last year heard till december but 2 years ago they heard earlier so who knows how they will do it this year Im assuming december and if its earlier I guess it will be a nice surprise

In my year, some people heard back in mid-November. But it changed, last year people didn’t hear back until December and it will likely remain the same.

Last year was the first year it was on the commonapp, you can assume they’ll operate similarly this year.

eziamm, you are probably right saying that decisions won’t come out until December. Let me clarify what I meant when I said a couple decisions prior to December. When I e-mailed the transfer admission director for CoE about possible decision timeframes, the reply I got back was that the first batch would be looked at by mid to late October. I haven’t received any decision yet, and when I spoke to my admissions counselor the other day it seems they’ve gotten backlogged so that date probably got pushed back.

I mean when it comes down to it, there are so many variables and assumptions on our end (the applicants) that there is no clear cut answer. The best advice is as you say… just wait until December because that is probably when the decisions will come out.

Website clearly states by 12/23. If you attended an info session they also mentioned decisions would be sent in the late December.

Be patient :)

Transfer admissions operate totally differently than freshman admissions, though. Whatever the admissions director said about transfers really doesn’t bear any weight on when freshman admissions will come out.

I think they came out a week or more before Christmas last year. I don’t think they like to put rejection emails out 2 days before the big holiday-makes for a not so merry Christmas for some. I will try to find the email and see what the date was last year.
Did not hear of anyone getting a reply in November last year so don’t hold your breath.

Ok found the email it was sent Thursday Dec 16 at 1:27 pm.
