I would like to know steps in increasing my chances for regular decision at Wharton. I was surprised that I was deferred from Wharton with my stats, but I assume they enjoyed something about me (my essays probably).

Anything I can do in terms of standardized testing to help boost my chances at getting in regular decision? Ive taken the SAT three times already, so I don't know if that is an option.

Admission to Wharton is very competitive and no one should expect a sure acceptance even with high stats. When my son applied to Wharton , his counselor told him he should at least have all his SATs in the mid to high 700's and all his AP's in the 5s. And that was 7 years ago.

Don't give up, there's really nothing you can do now but work on your other applications and hope for the best. I am sure you will get into a school that will be a good fit for you. Good luck.

I beginning to see that Penn like mistakes more than everyone having high sats. I dont kno, every one that applies there or atleat the majority is gonna have good grades, so how hwodo they pick the kids? By the essays and passionate ECS and interviews. Which is probably why you werent rejected. Good job!

@cbreeze- My surprise was at the fact that I wasnt rejected, not accepted lol.

I understand what you guys are saying, the fact that something about my application was interesting. But then it makes you think, what went wrong and why wasn't I accepted. Im thinking it has to be the low scores, as nothing else on my application was that bad. Im thinking about taking the ACT's for the in February, so that it shows Im still interested and want to get in. Think that will help?

When you get deferred, there is absolutely nothing that you can do. Go to temple, synagogue, church, or any holy place because only G/d can help you now.

can we send in stuff to maybe show we're still really keen on going? Any dudes that were deferred then accepted have any advice? (this is pretty much a bump)

Your stats aren't stellar, but they're within the range. I think you should focus on what impressed the adcom instead of what didn't impress them.
