Hi everyone! I would appreciate your advice on what i should do next....I have a 4.4 GPA and 1200 SAT alot of EC's and all the other good stuff =) but i got rejected.... I have my heart set on UF (unfortunately i'm REALLY stubborn)
so the question is should I go to FSU and hope to transfer or go to Santa FE so that the transition is easier? I just feel like I've worked so hard and done so much to just end up at a community college were i could of gone with 2.0 GPA and a 950 SAT score =/

Personally unless you really feel that life would not be unfulfilled without going to UF, i would avoid Community College. Perhaps you might end up at a better school and wonder why you ever wanted UF in the first place. If you worked hard to get where you are, attend a school that reflects it. FSU is a great school as are countless others like it.

Go to FSU or UCF and get great grades and EC activities and transfer if thats still how you feel after 2 yrs.

i agreee im jsut liek you however, we have basically similar stats except the Sat score

i would suggest trying another school...ucf, fus...fiu........there are many. Many people feel sante fe is the best way to go although a cc doesnt look good if u want to continue with Grad school such as law or med.

hope that helps ;)

I wouldsuggest thinking about your career goals. For ex; i want to become an attorney, while UF will be a great school for me to go to, FSU is the capital and i LOVE POLITICS.

So lets say you wanted to go to UF and become a marine bioligist, you'll go to FIU OR FL GOULF COAST, AND YO'LL BE NEAR THE WATER ALL THE TIME AND ENJOY THAT ASPECT OF YOUR SCHOOL.

UF may be the on;y hing that qould have made you happy, but think of what else makes you happy, and where you should go to accomplish that happiness

What do you want to study?

Take some time to look at the other schools in the state, you may find that this is a great chance to find the school you were really meant to attend.

i agree with everyone else in the forum.
i thinki have metnioned this numerous times. But...i cant streess it enough i was bummed wen i didnt get in...it just sucks AND thats all. your great and you would do great at any school. Maybe it wansnt meant to be. But....look at what you really want to do. EX. for me its law. and i got into FSU which is where im going ;) future nole but TRUE GATOR AT HEART. So you really need to weigh what it is that you want to do . If you are unsure. then you have a slew of choices. Good luck to you.

Just go with FSU

Yeah I agree, FSU was my second choice if I didn't get into UF. They are the second best school in-state :)

Jackie12...if you are still out there...
I'm going to disagree with everyone else. If you have your heart set on being a Gator...if you bleed blue and orange...consider Santa Fe. Gainesville is such a small college town. Housing for students is everywhere, and Santa Fe and UF students share these complexes. The Santa Fe students I know in Gainesville love it. They can experience the sports and the social life. A two year A.A. degree flies by. A student of your caliber should have no problem transferring to UF from Santa Fe....remember--it is not a guarantee...but you should have no problem keeping your good GPA :-)
