so pretty unique interview

First question the Princeton alumni who happens to be Chinese asks me is if I'm Chinese as well. I reply in mandarin that yes and I also speak mandarin fluently so he replies "why don't we converse in mandarin". I'm like alright cool w/e and so the entire interview is conducted in mandarin.

Anything of the sort ever happen to you guys?

nope, all my interviewers were americans (and spoke english...)

uh, not at my interview

I guess you'll get extra points for your interview if he wrote "fluent in mandarin" O.o (besides the fact that you guys probably connected better)

thats really awesome!! as someone in their second year of learning mandarin, im really jealous that youre already fluent!! also, one of my friends who is literally a polyglot is basically fluent in french, and told his interviewer so, and from what i understand the majority of the interterview was conducted in french...so this does happen sometimes, just depends on whether both parties are fluent in the same language

My AP gov. teacher told me this helped someone get into Harvard, so I'm betting it helps with Princeton too. Either way, it's very admirable. Good luck!

Sounds like a great interview for you.

wow... that's special :)
