So...question about senior grades

So obviously I’m pretty paranoid about this application thing. And it’s not like I’ve been failing this term, but I think I may have gotten a B+ or two. I’m taking AP classes and everything, but I’m not at all a shoe-in applicant and I’m afraid this will just be a reason to reject me. So do you guys think that first quarter grades are mainly just a way to see that you’re still taking school seriously, or do they actually evaluate GPAs like they would for the first three years?

I'm sure that the first three years collectively are more important than your first quarter senior year alone. If you have a B+ or two, you should seriously not worry about it, if you have other things that you pursue passionately in your life, that greatly outweighs a B+ here (or even a C- there.)

It's also very, very, very important to note that NO ONE is a shoe-in applicant to Brown University, or any school for that matter. None of us really know what's going on in the admissions office; what gets you in or what keeps you out.

Just keep your grades as best as you can, don't stress out. good luck!

It's just one small piece of a much larger picture.
As said over and over on CC threads, your chance of rejection is 87% - the same as all the other highly qualified applicants.
Your essay is critically importnat - what makes you stand out, what will you offer the diversity of the Brown community -
Virtually everyone who gets in has great grades, SATs, SAT IIs, APs, ECs, etc.
What's YOUR story?

no advice but just wanted to say dont worry about it
i was stupid and didnt do any apps over the summer so i decided to do it first term OUCH
so ya this first term i got 1 A-, 3 B+, and 2 B-
oh man

omg i TOTALLY feel your pain :-'( Senior year is so hard, i got 4 a's and 3 b's...doesn't it suck lol? only dif. is that i didn't apply ED, i'm RD
