So scared of UCLA Admissions now!!!

From the threads I have been reading about I have seen kids with amazing stats get rejected from UCLA. I heard one story of a kid with a 4.0 and a 2310 Sat, and 750+s on all his SATIIs get rejected. For me at least, that seems like an Ivy league candidate's scores.

Is it me or is the UCLA admissions process getting exponentially hard to a..scary extent?

Consider the following.

UnW GPA: 3.85
UC GPA: 4.08
W GPA: 4.31
Instate
SAT: Math 770
CR: 700
W 710 10 essay
Total: 1470/2180
SATIIs: 750 Math 720 Bio 730 Spanish
ECs: Two club presidencies, multiple national level DECA [business club] awards, 400+ hours at hospital Varsity Soccer captain

These are my older sisters stats and she was accepted into UCLA in 2008 for an impacted bio major. Do you think she would be able to get into UCLA today? From what I see her chances today would be outrageously slim. Let along SD and LA let a lone Berkeley seem to be reaches for my sister's stats.

How do you think she would have done? Have the admissions gotten that hard?

They got harder but they lookng now for more of the complete package. GPA and SAT small facttor… I had 3.45 and 1680 SAT and got acceptted cause of my poverty, essays, and EC’s

UCLA seemed to me like a lottery in a way. They just hand picked alot of adequate candidates for admissions and then randomly picked among them to admit into UCLA. Same with the UCSD admissions.

I had always thought UCSD was a bit more methodical than UCLA…seeing they have a numerical formula which determines acceptance. But any comments on whether or not the stats above would qualify today? Note that my sister got in to all the UCs berkeley included do you think she would be able to pull that off today as well?

She could, but I would not be surprised in any way if she got rejected. Keep in mind 2008 was pre- budget cuts for the UC’s. The admissions was curtailed by thousands of students. I know this firsthand, I got rejected from UCLA yesterday.
