I REALLY WANT TO MAJOR IN ENGINEERING/ COMP SCIE

what good schools can i get into with my stats? I was thinking of UIUC, purdue, etc...

but I'm scared that i won't get into any... do i even have a chance i top tier schools such as the UC's or others?

Look for ABET accredited programs you qualify for and you will be fine. You may also consider Manhattan College, SUNY Stony Brook, SUNY Buffalo. And I second RIT, Stevens as good options.

OH YA. I am an international student (canada) and do not need any financial aid. Ive taken honours classes and this year am taking numerous AP classes

@mnm111 uhm, i took them when i was really ignorant and younger back in gr 9. i got a 670 in math 2c… sucks i know… did i basically screw myself?

If you are a senior haven’t you already made application to schools? Deadlines are mostly Jan 1. Which ones have you applied to? You have good stats.

i applied blindly before i got my sat scores because i assumed i would get a good score from practice tests… now getting my score… I’m a little worried… i applied to berkeley, UCLA… UIUC, purdue, and university of washington… all engineering

You’ve got a day to apply to some safety schools if you don’t have any. It sounds like the UC’s are kind of selective and engineering is even more selective. Check the schools vipan mentioned and I’ll add VA Tech and GMU (might be a safety). Make sure you have some safeties you can stand to attend. Good luck.

The good news is that M+CR are the important ones. What is your backup? UW Seattle admits very few directly to the program and there is a competitive process to transfer in about 1/3rd or a little more get accepted or you have to find a related or alternate major. You are iffy for most picks as an int’l with limited slots available for you I’m afraid. But we don’t really have all your info, your transcripts etc. Purdue should be likely. Full pay is in your favor a bit for your apps. You are applying to CAN colleges too I hope. You can do very well there and save a lot of money.

Go to school in Canada. Your poor planning for college does not bode well for admission to the schools you are listing here. Waiting until the last minute to submit your applications and hoping for miraculous SAT scores don’t make you sound very serious or competitive.

If you really did screw up, places like the University of Washington are a great idea. They have much easier entrance standards (about 50%) and top notch Engineering and comp Sci programs. The majority of the students in those programs apply from within the college as Juniors. Basically, you have a couple years to go to school, show your stuff and get another chance at admission
