Is anyone else as scared as me for college? I am a stress ball and I'm only going to be a junior in high school. :[ I'm so scared that I'm gonna major in the wrong thing and that I wont get accepted into med school... I know... always have a positive attitude, and I'm trying but I'm so scared... I've been scared since like 7th grade (lol) and I guess it's gotten me far considering I have a 4.2 GPA on a 4.5 scale but still... I bet a lot of you VERY GENIOUS PEOPLE are scared too!

ah girl, lessen up a little. I am stressed like hell right now. I have ACT coming up on Sept, and I am not prepared. AHAHAHAH. I'm studying like a hell but scores not rising fast enough. For me coming to this board is a way of relieving some stress. LAH LAH LAH.

Ohhh gosh, youre gonna get a perfect score! I know it!! If you're preparing then you'll do fine! I'm stressing out for the SAT's, I've been practicing since the new SAT 2006 books came out. I'm such a NERRRRD. & Yeah I just joined like 10 minutes ago and its actually kinda helping!

AHAHA the thing is that I am international and I suck at grammar-punctuation especially. AHAHAHA. well, I know you're gonna do just fine. What college do you have in mind?

Are you really!? Where? It's okay, I came to the US in like 1st grade and had no one to help me with english and it took forever to learn pretty much by myself and I still don't get it so you're not the only one. I think I'm going to stay in-state (colorado) for college because It's like $20,000 cheaper :]. What about you?

Ah, I'm Korean and Ivy League basically raises social status in my country so that's what I am shooting for. It sucks to be me. AHAHAHA. I came here about 5.5 years ago. I couldn't talk to anyone in English for a whole damn year. :D Where r u from?

y'all need to get out a little more.......:-D

It's not the end of the world if you don't make it to med school. The large majority of people who start out premed in college don't even make it to applying for med school. And 55% of those who do apply to med school get rejected from every single med school they apply to. The point is, those people do just fine in life regardless. Focus on high school for now and worry about college later.

Lol Aspen, stop being mean, I bet I have cooler friends than you :P haha j/k but I probably do... umm wow I'm Eastern European (Bosnian to be exact) but I look like your average white person.. umm yeah Ivy League raises social status everywhere but to me, having a family is way more important than Ivy League.. but I still want to do amazing in college and have a well-paying job and stuff.

Okay thanks but I'm still deathly scared and those statistics don't really help me at all. Haha but I seriously don't know what I'm going to do with my life if I don't get accepted into med school.

volunteer like a hell in your undergraduate years. I was told that that counts hella lot in medical school admissions. I bet you will get in. Since I am shooting for medical school as well, be in contact if you'd like: MSN messenger: nextworldflower@msn.com

Lol i've been volunteering like hell even in high school! I've done everything from volunterring at a preschool to volunteering at a nursing home! So I won't have any trouble with that but I don't have MSN messenger :[ booo.

I've known some ppl with REAL lame resume(almost no volunteer experience)/ no rare experience and still got into UA medical school. You'll be fine. Just be motivated and study hard.

Okay thanks :] I definitely will try and I'm gonna do perfect on the MCAT! And it's all just dandy! Lol. If you know so much then why are you so stressed!?

Hahah
Arijana----I wasn't being mean. I promise. I just become blunt sometimes. I didn't mena to come off as rude. I simply meant....enjoy yourself. You're onlly a jr in hs, and if you're gonna freak this much, good luck to you in the future. You know? Enjoy junior year; there will be plenty to wrory about senior year, and after. Don't make getting into med school your life.

Arijana/ ahaha I emotionally freak out sometimes. -_- and besides, this is my first and last ACT. So I am scared. Off to study

:] I know, I was just being sarcastic. Umm well with parents as strict as mine about everything I don't really have anything else to do except worry about college... I'm not exactly worried because I took this college-type leadership thing at Georgetown University in DC like a week ago, I'm just very curious as to where I'm standing compared to other students. Make sense? It does to me.

PreMed Dood, I do too :] We can be nerd buddies!! Sounds like a plan. You're gonna do perfect! Have fun!!! :]]]]

Save the stress for halfway through college when you realize that the top med schools are roughly 2-3X as tough as Harvard undergrad to get into.

I don't think anyone in history has ever gotten a perfect score on the MCAT. 39 out of a possible 45 is already 99th percentile.

You're such a pessimist. Wish us luck, don't bring us down. Sheesh.
