So T14 or lower is fine right?

Hey everyone,

I've been lurking here for awhile and from what I gather Law is not the best market, and it isn't what it originally was, blah blah, etc. However, I have a friend who just graduated Yale Law and said there's no problem, and companies pretty much still clamor for you. He ended up getting the 160k starting salary, etc.

So is it that the top schools are still fine and in demand, and just the lower schools are struggling now?

Thanks for any input.

The job stats get lower as you drop in the ranks. That happens fairly drastically after the T14, but even within it plenty of people wind up unemployed. You can take a look at the job stats yourself here[/url”>http://www.lawschooltransparency.com/]here.

Sure, if you graduate from Yale Law School, you’ll have no problem getting a good law job. On the other hand, Yale Law School is the top ranked and most selective law school in the country, with a relatively small graduating class. In contrast, if you graduate in the bottom half of the class from Georgetown University Law Center (and maybe even in the lower part of the top half of the class), you could very well have a problem getting a good law job. All T-14s are not created equal.
