So tempted to post a chance thread! Pros and Cons?

Pros and cons of posting a chance thread? Have you posted one? If yes, why?

Just curious :)

it really depends…
i posted twice…just did the second one 2 secs ago :stuck_out_tongue:
the trick is to not take it too seriously, look at the chances and ask urself if its worth it or not…
most people who chance themselves r in the exact same position as u r… (they tell u to chance them back which is weird coz if they dont knw their own chances how can they tell u urs…lol) but the point is… tht they help u keep grounded… its very very rough and the actual chances will vary…no one can guarantee u an acceptance… but even someone will no experience can tell that low test scores wont get u in the ivy league or similar…

pros = if u get positive response then u will be more confident and that will reduce the stress u will experience in the coming months!

cons…u might get discouraged and not apply to a college that might have accepted u!

excuse the typos…i typed in a hurry :)

Pro: Decrease anxiety
Con: Increase anxiety

Haha @Salmons good point! :)

And @HaHeHo I find that (chancing back) interesting as well! If one were to chance back, can’t you just pretend your own stats are someone else’s and get your “chance” right away?

Interesting…lol

i’d say apply to all your schools first and then do a chance thread, thats what i did hahaha speaking of which:

I have posted twice, they have both been helpful. The main pro is the you get somebody to review where you are at objectively and tell you where to improve, the main con is that it can be rather stressful if you have a lot to improve on and/or the schools that you thought where matches are reaches.

Cons: people will tell you that you basically can’t get into any college you applied and will make you regret applying to those schools. They also will make you feel bad about your stats even if they are ok

Pros: …
