Hi all,
So recently I took the ap world history AP Exam. When I checked my score I found out that I got a 3. I was externally shocked by this, since I was one of the brightest students in my class(as the teacher said) and my essays were used as examples to show other students. I felt utmost confident that I would get a 5, but didn’t receive my desired score. Is it possible that the college board made a mistake, or was I too confident. I don’t think I messed up in bubbling or anything, do u guys know what could have happend
Do we know what happened? No.
But if I were to guess, despite your title, your test was not "scored wrong " and you got the score you deserved. So perhaps you were overconfident. You can always pay the $30 for an MC rescore, but you should have no expectation of a score change. Time to move on.
I feel like I did pretty well. My studying and preparation was extensive and I answered each question thoroughly. Is it happend before that the college board has scored incorrectly?
Yes. But very very rarely. But be aware, while you might think that you answered every free-response question thoroughly, there is no rescore available on that section. You can spend the $10 to get your FRQ booklet back, but there will be no marking in it, and no appeal. As I said earlier, you can rescore the MC section for $30 if you want peace of mind, but expect no change.
Hi
Thanks for the info. Is there any way for me to withdraw that score from my application ??
Listing AP scores on the college application is optional. You can list all/some/none. I can think of no reason not to list a 4, and I would not list a 1 or 2. Whether it makes sense to not list a 3 depends on many factors, including the college and your potential major.
So are ap scores not automatically included in your transcript
Not all HS’s will include your AP scores on your transcripts and you do not need to send in scores when you apply, only when you matriculate.
