So, the mail came....

And I got the acceptance letter I was expecting--don't worry if you haven't gotten your letter yet; they were mailed out on Thursday, but I live pretty close to Cornell. But all that was in it was the letter telling me I'm accepted and a flyer explaining the deposit of $400 by January 15, that everything like housing and all that comes in April, and that "if you applied for finaid, you'll get a letter from them." When does THAT LETTER come (the flyer doesn't say), as that's what I was looking forward to seeing today?

You should get it relatively soon, I think within the next week or two was when I got mine.

wow congratulations!
can I ask you a quick question?
What sat score did you get and what was your gpa?

AHHhh!!! You got me excited and I went outside and checked my maill… and nothing. lol

But then again, I live in Florida…

I got mine, and I’m in CT. They’re certainly very speedy-getting a letter on sat. when you only heard on thurs isn’t bad at all!

Don’t get excited, it’s basically just a letter telling you that you got in (you know that) and that you have to pay them $400 by Jan 15. What I’m waiting for is the finaid letter. Where oh where could it be?

I got my FA letter and the acceptance letter today, but I live in NJ so that probably made me get everything faster. So if you didn’t get it yet, it should be in your mailbox early next week.

What are the FA packages like?

Mine is very generous. I didn’t get any loans and will only have to come up with about $10,000 per year, including work-study.

I got mine too!! The letter came with the acceptance letter. Its in a big envelope. I’m getting a full ride, excluding the $2370 I’ll have to pay myself.

I got my acceptance and financial aid letters today too, also in NJ. Seems like the same deal as Focus’s; everything is covered except for the $10,000 room and board.

vsung - what’s your income level like?

i have the same thing as vsung. I get full ride excluding the 2370. I don’t get it. What is the student contribution?

Is the mail the mailbox-kind or the delivery UPS/DHL kind?

^regular mail box

I think the student contribution is what you yourself are expected to contribute. Do you have a job or a couple thousand dollars in the bank?

This might take a while—>China

i guess i better get a job this summer

it worries me i didn’t get my finaid letter the same day as my acceptance. especially considering i probably live a lot closer to cornell then most of you; on the PA side of US-15…not far from corning. that’s what i was excited about getting. that’s my xmas present right there. i’m calling on monday if i don’t get it just to make sure we’re good.

does the $2370 include federal work study? i’m under 60k income/100k assets so I’m expecting a full ride (they promised it, one of the reasons i was able to apply ED), so i’m interested.
