SO....The summary of current FA email crisis

I only got one letter, saying that I’m missing some docs, but no confirmation email…what confirmation email? What did it say in it?
My email to FAO got IGNORED, so I think my journey ended long ago…

I really don’t think any of this is an indication of acceptance or rejection.

I agree with jalinovi… I think everyone is reading a bit too much into these emails. I got an email asking about some missing documents and the email cleary said “The items listed below are missing from your financial aid application at this point. In order for us to provide a financial aid award letter IF you are admitted, you must submit these items…”

The “if” is the key here; they’re just trying to get their documentation done. There could be a whole abundance of reasons why some people got notification emails and some didn’t, it probably just comes down to an administration decision. However, I highly doubt that these emails are anything more that exactly what they are, messages to students who need to complete their CSS profiles.

Theorizing is great, but it may not be such a constructive idea to come up with a baseless hypothesis founded upon pure conjecture. Let’s stick to fact and minimize uneeded stress.

Yeah, I also don’t think it means anything… Unfortunately for me, as I did get a confirmation email. But they’re probably all automatic, and there might have been a bug in the system or something. There’s no way to tell except to wait for Thursday. Columbia wouldn’t be blunt enough to let the admissions decisions out before the decision date.

^ eh I hope so…I got the letter and the initial email, but no confirmation.

Me too irismerdoch1.
And fingers crossed for everyone on Thursday!(And Firday for some people!)

I got the initial email and two confirmations, so I hope I get in.

What the eff… didn’t get even ONE confirmation. This sucks…

@ people who didn’t get FA confirmation emails

Don’t worry, it probably doesn’t mean anything. If it means anything at all, it would be that you’re rejected … to receive any financial aid xD. (But that doesn’t mean you don’t have a decent shot during regular decisions).

In addition, I received the email telling me to supplement my missing parts right after I checked my status online. I have my suspicions that it is an entirely AUTOMATED process – don’t worry about it.

Best of luck guys – college is not the end of your life, but only the beginning.

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy guys guess what??

my college counseoler calld the FA offcie for me and they just updated and emailed me
they got styff…so it is very obvious they did not care to look at my stuff until now
so guess i m not in :/

^ haha, ur pessimism is priceless

Did this theory about receiving a follow-up email turn out to be true?

I am wondering the same thing. I never received a follow up email, and I got rejected.

Proved wrong.

I never got a confirmation e-mail or ANYTHING. And I was accepted :D
